Abstract
Este artigo é uma revisão bibliográfica que pretende caracterizar a Perturbação
Paranóide de Personalidade, identificar quais os seus fatores
etiológicos, o curso da doença e analisar algumas intervenções psicoterapêuticas
bem-sucedidas com esta Perturbação de Personalidade. As
principais características da Perturbação de Personalidade Paranóide são a
desconfiança, a hostilidade, a frieza e a rigidez para com os outros. Quanto
à etiologia, os estudos referem que não existe ainda uma causa específica
para a perturbação, no entanto, a mesma pode estar relacionada com
fatores biológicos e genéticos, e também com fatores sociais e familiares.
Segundo os estudos analisados, o curso da perturbação é variável, podendo
os sintomas manter-se ao longo do tempo ou reduzir a sua intensidade com a passagem do mesmo. Os tratamentos podem ser farmacológicos e/
ou psicoterapêuticos, existindo vários estudos que comprovam a eficácia
de várias abordagens psicoterapêuticas.
This article is a literature review that aims to characterize the Paranoid Personality Disorder, identify the etiological factors, disease course and analyze some successful psychotherapeutic interventions with this Personality Disorder. The main features of the Paranoid Personality Disorder are distrust, hostility, coldness and rigidity to others. Referring to its etiology, the studies indicate that there is still no specific cause of the disorder, however it may be related to biological and genetic factors, and also with social and family factors. According to the studies analyzed, the course of the disorder is variable, may the symptoms remain over the time or reduce its intensity with the passage of time itself. Treatments may be of pharmacological and/or of psychotherapeutic nature, studies prove the effectiveness of various psychotherapeutic approaches.
