Stress vulnerability and quality of life in formal caregivers.
Abstract
(92.44%) e 18 homens (7.56%),e com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 56 anos (M = 43.91;
This study aims to analyse the relationship between stress vulnerability and quality of work life in formal caregivers of individuals with disabilities. Two hundred and twenty five formal caregivers of disabled people participated, of both sexes (207, 92.44% women; 18, 7.56% men), aged between 18 and 56 years old (M = 43.91; SD = 28.43). The study’s design is quantitative, descriptive-correlational and cross-sectional. We used the quality of work life questionnaire (importance and frequency) and the 23 stress vulnerability questionnaire, to evaluate the quality of work life and the stress vulnerability, respectively. The results showed that participants have high levels of stress vulnerability and low levels of quality of life at work. Results also showed that that quality of life at work (importance scale) predicts vulnerability to stress and explains 54% of its variance.
