The bases of human creation: synthesis and implications for management
Abstract
The current paper presents nine concepts that have been extensively used in organisational behaviour, management, and consultancy practice. The concepts share the fact that they all relate to human creative mechanisms and processes, which are involved in the creation of images, ideas, products or businesses. The text is based on the need for a conceptual clarification of the nine constructs. These are: imagination, intuition, inspiration, improvisation, creativity, investigation, invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The concepts are first defined and the relationships amongst them are highlighted. Next a holistic and descriptive model unifying the nine constructs is put forward. The text ends exposing the main implication of this integrated framework to management and the organisation.
