dc.description.abstractOver the past decades, deterrence has proven to be the most relevant strategic response to security threats in peacetime. Hybrid threats, however, pose challenges to the traditional logic of deterrence. These threats, broadly understood as malign activities aimed at destabilising adversaries without directly triggering a military response, defy the conditions under which traditional deterrence works best.
