The Macau Gaming Law was enacted in 2001, shortly after Macau’s return to China. The adoption
and prioritisation of national security within Macau’s gaming industry, particularly following the
amendments to the Macau Gaming Law in 2022, will have profound implications for the region’s
socio-economic and political landscape.
