Stone in the landscape

Abstract

This work intends to intervene in a fragmented territory in the eastern part of the city of Lisbon, more precisely in the neighborhood of Marvila. Through the construction of quality public spaces in continuity with the urban environment, new possibilities of circulation between the different media are created and the urban potential of the area is emphasized. Firstly, it seeks to understand the scale of the territory and to identify existing problems. Then, through a global strategy, a way to intervene in the territory is identified. Through an architectural typology, we seek to arrive at a model that can promote these spaces within the city, where the Stone in the Landscape building is a crucial component within this system.
